Rachel Dobin, LCSW
Divorce Coach, Custody Mediation Specialist
Rachel Dobin, LCSW, received her Master‘s degree from The University of Maryland in 2007. Since then, she’s worked in various inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities. Rachel has experience working with victims of domestic violence and experience in a residential home for people with developmental disabilities and mental illness. She knows you cannot help an individual unless you help the entire family.
In her work with Jewish Family Service of Greater New Haven over the past ten years, Rachel worked as a program director in various capacities, including as the creator and manager of the SOS outreach case management program helping vulnerable populations in Greater New Haven. As a certified parent educator in CT, Rachel led parenting education classes and helped rewrite the parent education curriculum through the CT Council of Family Service Agencies. Rachel also volunteers as a commissioner on the Hamden Disability Commission, where she’s spent the last eight years advocating for people with disabilities in her local community.
In her personal life, Rachel is a divorced mom of three who co-parents (mostly peacefully) with her ex-husband. She spends her limited free time browsing bookstores, adding to her to-be-read pile, and fostering friendships that she believes are vital to surviving divorce and single-parenthood. Rachel offers divorce coaching and custody mediation clients a combination of real-life and professional experience that allows clients to feel empowered and supported.
